4 Things to Consider Before Hiring a Bin Rental Company

The process of installing a new flat or metal roofing system is a methodical one, which means everything—including construction waste disposal—has to be streamlined and organized. For efficient and safe disposal of debris, a large bin where construction waste can be stored is needed. While there’s always the option of purchasing a disposal bin for the building’s use, it arguably makes more practical and financial sense to rent one. After all, it’s not something that you’ll be using on a daily basis, unless you’re a commercial roofer.

To get value for your money, it’s important to do your research before hiring a bin rental company. Here are some of the things you should consider before hiring one:

1. The Type of Waste to Be Disposed

Local authorities have different regulations about the disposal of certain kinds of waste. Not to mention the rental company might charge different rates on the type of waste to be disposed of. It would also be a good idea to ask the company about how they dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Ideally, you should hire a company that recycles discarded roofing panels and construction debris.

2. Size of the Dumpster Bin

Renting a bin that’s larger than necessary is just a waste of money. To find out how much bin capacity you’ll likely need, it’s best to consult your roof repair and replacement contractor.

3. The Duration of the Rental

If you don’t know how long your construction project will take, you’ll save more money by choosing a hauler—which has the longest rental period—instead of a short-term rental.

4. Location of the Company

It makes practical—and financial—sense to choose a bin rental company that’s close to your home. To ensure the timely disposal of wastes, the company’s office shouldn’t be too far away from your home. There’s also the fact that some companies will charge higher rates for bin rentals to offset their transportation costs.
